Comparison and Contrast

DLSC vs. UST

I'm studying in De Lasalle Canlubang because I found what I want wherein other schools don't have . This is a sample list why I chose DLSC:

-Uniforms
-Years of inexistence
-Population
-Place

Firstly, the uniforms, I don't need to wear the usual uniformsd that all the highschool and grade school students do.I mean I feel Independent every time I wear house, casual, and formal clothes. And this reason doesn't go for UST because UST students wear uniforms.

The next one is the years of inexistence, I think that since DLSC is still young at age, the people in it aren't that established yet so it would be easy for me to get along with the environment easily . Although there is still a disadvantage for entering into a juvenile college because since the school DLSAC is at its fifth year of existence the teachings might not be deep in understaning. I'm just assuming this because I still haven't encountered that yet and hopefully not.

The third reason is the population, as what I've said in the second paragraph, "I wanna get along with the environment easily" and so the population will greatly help me in DLSC with an estimated population of students of about four-hundred people. I believe it's easier to get in a small crowd at first than entering a huge crowd or else I'll end up in the middle of nowhere.

Lastly is the place, avoiding worldy people would be better for me or rather saying would benefgt me. We all know where worldly people can be found. They are all scattered around Manila and so to at least avoid or just lessen those kind of people I might as well go to a rural place where I found a school that really suits me best and it is De Lasalle Canlubang.

journal,

I don't know what to blog. I started getting lazy oppening the internet when the net at home didn't work for a week. What a week I had.. At last, I've finished my first Compro1 exam. I'm assuming that I'd get a higher grade than what I got before since this is my second take.

Classification

My Friends I have a lot of friends and I'll categorize them by their personalities or their characters. However if I can't categorize or distinguish the kind of friends I have, I might as well identify them by the way I think of them. Friends that are fun to be with and share problems with are the friends that I call “Best Friends" and of course add to this is a friend that I'm most comfortable with. Treat my best friends as a part of the family. My best friends are far different from my close friends. My close friends are the people that I get along with almost everyday and share the same experiences almost always. My close friends are simply the friends that lead to being my best friends. Aside from my best friends and close friends, there is this kind that I call, "My Civil Friends". My civil friends are the people who I see and meet all the time but we don't talk at all. Probably just a smirk will do and that would be our means of communication Sounds funny but that's really it. It happens! Another type of friend that I have is called "My Long Distance Friends"; they are the friends that I met through internet, chat, and even through texts. Most of them became my friends through chit-chats on the net. Maybe I can define them as my friends when there's nothing to do. Anyway, the similarity that I can give or share is that, they all are my friends, and I care for them and will treasure them since they've been a part of my history.

journal, Timbao

Coming from school is so exhausting. Even if I just sat in the vehicle for about an hour going back home I feel like I came home from a camp. Maybe it's because my brain consumed most of the space from studying or whatever. haha! Anyway, earlier this morning, we went to a place called "Timbao". The fifteen students including me were divided into five groups to spread and interview some young students in "Timbao Elementary School". It was quite an experience with the kids having an interaction with us. The kids who were assigned to us were in grade two. The kids struck our hearts when we heard their stories of how they wake up really early morning and walk over a kilometer just to reach school and study. We asked the children of what do they want to be when they grow up and why, and all of them answered with these replies, "Gusto ko po maging doctor kasi gusto ko lang po", "Ako po stewardess! Pangarap ko po kasi sumakay ng eroplano", "Ako naman pulis pero di ko alam kung bakit", and lastly, the one that really touched us, " Gusto ko lang po makatapos ng pagaaral, kasi po marami po kaming utang lalo na pong nadagdagan noong nagkasakit si papa sa atay.". It's like the kid was telling us that she'll be contented with any job as long as she can pay all the debts of her parents. Because she believes that when she finishes her studies she'll be able to make her family a debt-free family. What a goal to fulfill by these inspiring kids. Also with this occurence that happened, it made us all feel how blessed we are even with small things like the water we drink, the food we eat, the clothes we wear, and our conviniency of studying. All of these are incomaparable to what the kids of Timbao are experiencing. Hope we learn how to give God the glory for giving us the comfort of living however I believe that we become stronger from the arduous trials He gives us.

Have a great day ! ! ! =)

Definition

Anak ng Toot

--> Used when disappointed or whatever.

1.) Ruvin said "Anak ng toot" when he missed a shot during a basketball game.
2.) My seatmate cursed the subject with "Anak ng toot".
3.) One of the students yelled "Anak ng toot" when he got a failing mark in class.

"Anak ng toot" can be defined when a person reaches his boiling point. Though often times here in the Philippines, people just use it as an expression of anything. To give an idea, let me illustrate the expression used when a person is happy , " People of the Philippines, I won p100,000,000 in sweepstakes. 'Anak ng tinapa talaga!' You are the best Lord! ' Anak ng pating'. As simple as this, I have created two "anak ng toots" expressions with only a statement explaining. Another way that it can be used is by expressing anger or frusration. Even when a person is in-love, it can also be used. To sum it all up, it's an expression that a person can express through various emotions..

*Thanks Myco for the suggestions you gave me.

Journal- What are your plans for today?

Today is a great day, I slept and woke up with a cool breeze. It just feels so good to stay on bed when it's cold. What makes me feel better was the breakfast that I just had while the birds were singing. Nacks, sarap dude! Anyway, I wanna talk about the hardest question I encounter every morning with my mum. And that questions is, "What are your plans for today?", seems to be so simple to answer huh? Well, that's what you think. Going back with that question, it becomes so hard for me to answer this question because with the early, soothing morning that I have, of course I'm not thinking of what plans I am going to do for that day. But I realized and learned something from that question, and it is, seeking my purpose of living each day of my life. Now let me ask you, what are your plans for today? ;)

How am I as a Listener

Listening, not an ordinary way to do. people may think that if you are a silent type of person you can't share anything or simply saying, you don't know the topic that's being discussed about but the truth is, in most cases it's actually better to be a good listener than to be the famos speaker as my dad used to tell me. To be a great listener is even you know what the speaker is talking about, you still pay attention to what he says. Why? Because not only to pay respect to the talker but also to improve, gain, or add more knowledge that you had before. Of course to fulfill this purpose, the listener should seek more information likewise having an interaction with the speaker. There are a lot of kinds of listeners, a listener who pleases, exaggerates, judges, also sometimes a listener who's street smart(one who benefits from the talk) and a lot more.

Me as a listener, I like interacting with the talker. I mean I don't like just sitting around and all I do is to listen quietly and attentively. Probably I can adapt that style in some other cases like when I don't know the person or whatever, when it's really not the proper time time to interact. Often times when the topic is really deep that involves emotions, I tend to think behind the words. Like for example, One of my definition for happiness is "happiness is not only an emotion but also a choice" which I got the meaning from listening to my friends' sharings. Well, actually most of the stories that I've heard go with that definition of happiness but definitely not all. As far as I am concerned, I am trying my best to be a balanced listener and to keep my optimism when giving critics because as what I commented precious, "No one has lost their eye- sight by looking at the positive side".

Same Dude

I got this idea when I watched heinze's video in his blog the "same girl" by Usher and Kelly but this video "same dude" that I'm about to tell you is a spoof of "same girl". It's so funny because firstly, their voices really don't sound good, secondly, the vehicles that they had ridden that should be an airplane and a cool sports car turned out to be just a dirty old bus and a vintage bike they used. And lastly, instead of a girl being talked about they were talking about the same dude. I'll give you the URl, hope you guys watch it tyoo. =)

Riddle

Hi, I'm from school and I know I can handle you!
Big or small, short or tall, I know I can handle you.
Even the trays or carts of food and the maps and
rugs of the floor, I know I can handle you. Though
sometimes you tend to abuse me because you
believe I can handle you. though it's true, please
don't abuse me 'coz I can break too. I can always
be used unless it's raining cats and dogs. And will
also be stopped if there's an unwanted occurrence
of the environment in school. As what I've said, you
still can use me but please don't abuse me. Just go
with me and I'll bring you! Oh yeah, before I go, in
the school I'm am unique too.
I know I can handle you.

Is School like a Prison?

I'm in school to b educated and of corse to fulfill my goal in life. I believe that each of us has a purpose that God has set us to do bt we just need to seek it. If I'll be living in a worldwherein I don't know my purpose; well life will be worthless then. With relation to school, to be specific I want to be an engineer someday and I can only attain that dream if I study. Studying may be hard but that's life. We all will deal with a lot of trials and with those hardships help us to be the better person who we want us to be. Studying may be a trial but will be a good tool to be a success.

My Three Msic Videos

The music videos that I chose are perfomed by Grits. Grits' genre of music is hip-hop. What makes them different from other hip-hop bands is that the group relates most of its songs with Jesus. It just amazes me how cool they make their songs. I didn't even notice at first that it was a Christian music I was listening to. Anyway, let me introduce to you the music videos.
I have 3 videos on my list, and to name them, it's "Here we go" , "My Life be Like", and lastly is "Hittin' Curves". The similarities of the three are that the songs are composed by only one band and as what I've said earlier it's the "Grits". In terms of the their videos, I've recognized few similarities, one of which is that there were always cars in the videos, next will be, there's always someone who wears a bonnet or a baseball cap. And probably the last similarity that I found was that all of the three videos started there music with a talk or an expression. It's interesting to know how they can mix their speech or their expression for their introduction then follows the good beat for their hip-hop. The music video that I love the most amongst my list is "My life be Like", why? Because in the video, they showed the sports cars of what they used in the film "Tokyo Drift". It makes me want to do the car tricks that they did in the film and design a car like they did with a Mustang. "My life be Like" music video is the best for me because the video just fits the song so well that it easily got my attention. I like "Here We Go" next because in the video they were like in a small farm. Of course when you see a farm it's so unusual to think that the music video will be a hip-hop video but then they(Grits) are so good in leading a "should be acoustic to a real hip-hop music video". And lastly, "Hittin' Curves", it's just so cool to see how they advertise the name that's written on their t-shirts. It says "Apostles", and to the other person's shirt it says "Grits", I think it's the Grits way to tell the people that they are followers of Christ. Try watching the video and see how the two persons were arranged.

Blog Enrties

Believe it or not, I read most of my classmates blog entries. It's all good thogh I suppose there are still few people who don't have there blogs posted yet. Anyway, I actally enjoyed reading my classmates knowledge abot their interest. It's amazing to know how prolific they were to see the references at the buttom of their entries. Probably, I'm not just used to seeing those kinds. It's been more than four hours since I started fixing my profile here in blogger and guess what, I still have not fixed it all up yet. And probably that's what made me make one more journal.

My English one class

This will be my first journal, and in here i'll talk about how I find my class in english one. Well, firstly, I see myself enjoying the class because it is a great challenge for me especiall dealing with a lot of writings. Next reaon would be my seatmate, I'll see if I can handle Ruvin with his sense of humor even if the humor is said in an unappropriate time. But still Ruvin is a coll guy. To finish up the topic on why I think my english class is a challenge for me is lastly because of the style of teaching our professor has. A cool style to keep you quiet, serious, and most of all a style that a student will be interested at listening.

Free writing(research)

Introduction:

My name is Hubert Kit and you can call me "Kit", anyway, I am 16 years old and I love sports; try naming one and that would be it. I also like listening to music but there would be times I don't. I'm a friendly person and tends to be talkative, a joker in a dorky way though, and a crazy person if bored however, I can balance myself with regards to serious matters.

Listening to Music

We listen to music because it gives us pleasure. We don't know by some inexplicable means, music has the power to make our feelings or emotions more involved. Music make us relaxed when we hear it or even makes us sad if we listen to depressing songs. With music we can express what feelings we have towards a person. Listening to music is an art, and like all the arts it requires discipline and preparation. Music can also be nothing if we aren't being real to ourselvs like what Edward Kennedy said, "It don't mean a thing if it ain't got a swing".
